Farrah Fawcett’s son Remond O’Neal is said to be "doing well under the circumstances" after learning of his mother’s death.

The 24-year-old is currently in a year-long rehabilitation programme, in an attempt to have two drug charges erased from his record.

He was told of
his mother’s passing while in jail and will be allowed to attend her funeral, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Steve Whitmore, a LA County sheriff’s spokesperson, said that O’Neal was "doing well under the circumstances" after law enforcement officials sent a grief counsellor, chaplain, and sheriff’s deputy to break the news to him.

In April, O’Neal was granted a visit to the ailing Charlie’s Angels star, which lasted for three hours under police supervision.
