Presley: 'Jackson worried he'd be like Elvis'

Lisa Marie Presley has admitted that Michael Jackson was worried that he would end up dying young like her father Elvis.

The ex-wife of Jackson wrote about their relationship on her MySpace blog, People reports.

"Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general," she said.

"He stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like [Elvis Presley], the way he did'."

She added: "I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that."

The pair were married for two years between 1994 and 1996, while she appeared in his video for 'You Are Not Alone' in 1995.

Jackson, 50, died from a suspected cardiac arrest on Thursday.
