Robert Pattinson 'unsure about acting'

Robert Pattinson has admitted that he was unsure if he wanted to be an actor before he landed a role in Twilight.

The star, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire franchise, said that he was "just bumming around" until the audition process began.

"Before I got the role in Twilight, I didn't really know what I was doing. I didn't know if I did want to be an actor," he told the Daily Star.

"I hadn't got to university and I was just bumming around and not feeling particularly good at anything. At the time I was desperately thinking I would never reach or achieve my goals."

Earlier this year, How To Be director Oliver Stone said that Pattinson almost gave up acting because he was unhappy with the roles he was being offered.
