Infomercial pitchman Billy Mays dies at 50

Billy Mays has been found dead at the age of 50, it has been claimed.

Known as the 'king of infomercials' and cohost of The Discovery Channel's Pitchmen series, Mays was found unresponsive early Sunday in his home in Tampa, Florida.

The Discovery Channel released in a statement: "Billy was a pioneer in his field and helped many people fulfill their dreams."

The OxiClean creator and founder became well-regarded for his loud and relentless deliveries and often made guest appearances on television shows, such as the former Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
