America Ferrera: 'I'm afraid of shopping'

America Ferrera has admitted that she has a fear of going clothes shopping.

The actress plays the fashion-challenged titular character on Ugly Betty, where she is surrounded by stylish-types at the fictional New York-based Mode magazine. She revealed that she has much in common with her Betty Suarez role when it comes to making garment purchases, Contactmusic reports.

She said: "I'm the total antithesis of a shopaholic, I really am. I'm afraid of shopping. I don't like to shop. I don't like being in stores.

"I've never enjoyed shopping since I was young. It's just not something that I like to do."

It was recently reported that ABC representatives had refuted claims that Susan Boyle was to guest star on the show's upcoming season.
