Lohan 'paid to celebrate birthday'

Lindsay Lohan was paid to celebrate her birthday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it has been reported.

The 'Freaky Friday' star, who turns 23 on July 2, was allegedly rewarded $70,000 (£43,000) to host an all-day "pre-celebration" pool party on Saturday, The New York Post reports.

It is understood that the actress hosted the event for a cash influx, as none of her close friends, including ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, were in attendance at the bash.

"None of her really close friends were there," an insider said. "The only person who was even known was Brittny Gastineau."

A representative for the MGM Grand declined to comment.

Two years ago, Lohan was scheduled to have her 21st birthday party held in conjunction with the city's Pure nightclub. However, it was cancelled after she was admitted to rehab.

Last year, she hired a company to find corporate sponsorship for her 22nd Moroccan-themed event, which also subsequently did not come to pass.
