Ashley Olsen: 'I'm not a public figure'

Ashley Olsen has admitted that she is not comfortable with being famous.

The actress and fashion designer, who made her screen debut at the age of nine months, told Hamptons magazine that she prefers to remain out of the limelight.

"I’ve definitely had a past life of being a personality, and a very public one," she said.

"But that’s not what makes me comfortable. I’m not an actress. I’m not a public figure or acting as one.”

The 21-year-old, who previously relocated to New York, added: "I can actually live here. I don’t get followed. In LA, paparazzi wait outside my house. I don’t leave my house. I can’t."

Olsen is currently working on her fashion label The Row, while twin sister Mary-Kate is filming Beastly alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer.
