Rihanna could reportedly face an investigation after she was photographed tattooing three individuals without the necessary licence.
The 'Disturbia' star was spotted inking designs on to her friends during a visit to the East Side Ink shop in New York on Wednesday night.
Speaking to E! Online, owner Yadira said: "She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist.
"He decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well. It's a little umbrella with a capital 'R' underneath it. The second and third had a number two and a number three next to it."
However, a representative for the city's Health Department has now claimed that the star could have been acting illegally if she was tattooing without the necessary licence.
It is understood that an official could be sent to the tattoo parlour to investigate, although a spokesperson for the NYPD said that an investigation would only go ahead if a complaint was made.
