A book about Michael Jackson penned by his regular recording engineer has had its release date brought forward.

In The Studio With Michael Jackson was originally scheduled for publication in October, but will now be available from July 27.

Published by Hal Leonard Books, it is written by Bruce Swedien, who worked with the late singer on his Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory albums. Swedien won four Grammys and was nominated for 12.

"I don't say anything bad about Michael in my book, it's nothing but good stuff," the author told The Hollywood Reporter.

Swedien also claimed that there were not many extra Jackson songs that remain unreleased from his early album sessions, despite rumours that previously unheard material may be compiled for a new record.

However, the producer did admit that one song he would love to hear again would be 'Don't Be Messin' Around'. "Michael plays piano on it, and it's just beautiful. Oh my God, there's nothing like it," he added.
