Pattinson 'terrified, overwhelmed' by fans

Robert Pattinson has reportedly become "terrified" by the female fans stalking the set of his upcoming movie in New York.

The Twilight star, who is currently filming romantic drama Remember Me in Manhattan, is thought to be pining for London, where he is able to escape the unwanted attention.

Speaking to the New York Daily News, a set insider said: "Robert is dying to get back home. He's so over everything. He's overwhelmed by all the girls - they terrify him!

"He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that... Robert doesn’t understand why everyone is going so crazy over him."

The source went on to say that the 23-year-old is "embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him" and has been forced to stay in two different hotels over the space of four days in order to escape the mayhem.

"He's afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm," added the insider. "He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore."
