The ITV1 chatshow host recently confirmed that he would quiz Price about her split from Peter Andre following weeks of publicity surrounding the break-up.
According to the Daily Star, the broadcaster has since been bombarded with internet messages from fans who are angry about the former glamour model being awarded air time.
An insider told the newspaper: "Piers can't believe how unpopular she is. He had no idea that there was so much ill-feeling against her. He knows he'd better not take a sympathetic, soft approach towards her or people will never forgive him."
Meanwhile, Morgan commented: "This is already the most controversial interview of my TV career and I haven't even done it yet. I predict massive ratings because everyone wants to hear what Katie Price has to say about her break-up. I will ask the questions that need to be asked."
Price and Andre announced that they were divorcing after nearly four years of marriage in May.
The special episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories will air on Saturday.
