Ronaldo's mum: 'Paris is just a friend'

Cristiano Ronaldo's mother has dismissed speculation surrounding his relationship with Paris Hilton, insisting that they were never an item.

The Portuguese footballer was romantically linked to Hilton last month after partying with the socialite at a Los Angeles nightclub.

However, speaking to the Daily Star, Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro commented: "He has only had two girls and Paris is just a friend. He phoned me to say he just met her. But she is not his girlfriend. If they were having a romance I'd be the first to know about it. He tells me everything."

The 54-year-old also revealed that she is standing by her claims that her son is not a womaniser.

She said: "I encourage him to go out and meet different girls while he is young and single. He's got to enjoy himself. But he is not a playboy, despite his image."

Hilton recently told a newspaper that she dumped Ronaldo because she did not want to be a WAG.
