The director attended the event in LA on Tuesday and said that he was awestruck by 11-year-old Paris's emotional tribute to the late popstar, People reports.
He said: "That was raw. Raw emotion. Nobody had a dry eye. That was a killer."
Lee, who directed the video for Jackson's song 'They Don’t Care About Us' in 1996, said that Paris's moving words put the loss of the singer into perspective.
He added: "How can you even comprehend a young daughter bemoaning the loss of their dear father, their daddy. We know Michael the entertainer, but to her, that's just daddy."
It was reported earlier that Paris's tribute was not planned for the service.
