Britney throws a Halloween party

Britney Spears is not one to do things by halves, as she is proving by spending $360,000 (about £200,000) on her Halloween party at her Malibu home. Not satisfied with predictable old apple-bobbing, there will be rides, clairvoyants and all manner of festive fun and games.

Britney and new husband Kevin have invited 80 guests to the party, and Britney is threatening to wear a very elaborate and fantastic costume.

An insider revealed: "Britney and Kevin have arranged for their house to be decorated with scary statues. They're even planning on having a ghost ride on the grounds.

"Britney is like a big kid sometimes and has even opted to have traditional games such as apple dunking. Britney is also looking forward to getting dressed up for the occasion, and while she's keeping quiet about her outfit, there's no doubt it will be amazing.

"Britney is also planning the mother of all parties this New Year. And that will be a huge affair."
