The Transformers star has said that she hopes girls will follow in her footsteps and become confident and outspoken women.
Fox told The Sun: "I would love to be a role model but it depends on what your idea of role model is.
"If your idea is somebody who’s going to preach to your kids, like, sex before marriage is wrong and cursing is wrong and women should be this and that, then I’m not a role model."
She added: "But if you want your girls to feel strong and intelligent and be outspoken and fight for what they think is right then I am. I want to be that type of model, yeah."
The 23-year-old actress has insisted she has always been headstrong.
"I’m not the type of feminist that’s afraid to be sexy. My mum learnt the lesson when I was six years old that you don’t tell me not to do something because then I run and do it."
