The singer, who returned to Britain today, was previously described as a "dangerous influence" on the small Caribbean island.
"Reports of her partying on the island have been massively exaggerated," a source told Metro.
"She went there with huge problems and has overcome them. She is back on track. She did a lot of exercise and sure she got a little drunk but that's what you do on holiday - that's rock 'n' roll."
Winehouse is reportedly eager to continue recording her third studio album following her eight-month vacation.
"She has some stuff to do with her Lioness record label, which her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield and backing singer Zalon are signed to," the insider added.
"Amy is also working on some material she put together with producer Salaam Remi while she was away as well."
