Voight 'reminds Jolie of happier times'

Jon Voight has made a fresh attempt to reconcile with his estranged daughter Angelina Jolie, a report claims.

According to the Daily Express, the 70-year-old actor has sent Jolie a DVD copy of comedy movie Lookin' To Get Out, which they both appeared in 27 years ago.

Voight commented: "Angelina's scene is a very key piece in the film. She was wonderful."

A source close to Jolie revealed: "Angelina thinks it's cute actually. She didn't have the best childhood, but this was a happy time. Perhaps watching it will encourage some bridges to be built."

The pair fell out in 2002 after Voight alleged that his daughter needed to "get help" for "serious mental problems".

Jolie's father has since made a number of public pleas to the star, claiming that he deserves a second chance.
