Mayer responsible for Simpson Romo split?

Romo and Simpson, who were first linked in 2008, are rumoured to have split recently. A source now claims that the break-up was due to text messages that the American footballer found on the singer's mobile phone.
RadarOnline quotes the insider as saying: "They were hanging out and he picked up her phone and she got defensive about it. Tony found messages from John and went ballistic. [He] dumped her right then. He walked out and that was it."
Since the split, Romo has been snapped leaving Hollywood hotspot Key Club after a boys' night out.
Mayer, who allegedly broke up with Simpson in 2007 after an on/off romance, has also been romantically linked with Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston.
