Thornton's daughter to stay in jail

Billy Bob Thornton's daughter Amanda Brumfield will remain in jail until the end of her murder and manslaughter trial.

Brumfield was indicted earlier this year after a 1-year-old girl died from a fractured skull and brain trauma while in her care. She was refused bail.

The actor and director's daughter will apparently remain in prison until the court hears from an expert witness in the case. After all evidence has been given, the 29-year-old could face jail time for first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter.

At the time of his daughter's arrest, the Love Actually actor said that he had had "no contact" with his daughter "for quite some time".
