Michael Jackson wanted his sister Janet to take care of his children after he passed away, it has been claimed.

The 'Beat It' singer was allegedly working on a new will to reflect that wish prior to his death on June 25, Contactmusic reports.

"Ultimately, he wanted Janet to look after the children, with help from his mother Katherine, and was planning to draft a new will to reflect those wishes. He trusted Janet implicitly," a source told Grazia magazine.

The insider also suggested that the Jackson family discussed Janet taking on the role as potential guardian to Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and 7-year-old Blanket, adding: "He wanted her to make sure the children would be loved and cared for in the same way he was raising them. She told him of course she would."

The will that the late popstar had drafted in July of 2002 named his mother as primary guardian, with singer Diana Ross serving as a backup caretaker.

The three kids are currently residing with their 79-year-old grandmother, pending a court hearing on July 20.
