Madonna tour set collapse kills one

One person has died and seven have been left injured following the collapse of Madonna's tour set, reports People.

A portion of the backdrop for her 'Sticky & Sweet' world tour reportedly subsided in Marseilles, France earlier today.

"I am devastated to have just received this tragic news," the singer said in a statement through her spokesperson.

"My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news."

It is understood that police and fire officials have shut down the stadium as they try to rescue those still trapped inside.
