The actor, who plays Kenneth in NBC's 30 Rock, is up against stars including Neil Patrick Harris and co-star Tracy Morgan in the outstanding supporting actor in a comedy category.
"I'm in shock and going through motions," McBrayer admitted to People. "I turned on my cell phone and the first call I got [was] from Amy Adams of all people."
He recently told DS that he thinks show creator Tina Fey "has done such a good job of making it relatable and accessible to people who haven't worked on a TV show".
