Jackson ex-wife sues over custody claims

Debbie Rowe has filed a lawsuit in response to allegations that she would surrender custody of her two children with Michael Jackson in exchange for money.

Rowe has accused Rebecca White of defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress after White alleged that she had exchanged emails with her about an upcoming custody hearing.

White, who claimed to be a close friend of Rowe, had told a US media outlet that she received an email from Rowe saying: "Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely.'"

The lawsuit has accused White of fabricating the correspondence and stated that Rowe and White have had no contact since Jackson's death. In addition, any emails that the women exchanged in the past were never related to Jackson, his family or the children.

An attorney for Rowe has yet to comment and it is not clear what the lawsuit is seeking.

Rowe, who was married to Jackson from 1996 until 1999, is expected to attend a custody hearing concerning 12-year-old Prince Michael and Paris, 11, on Monday.
