Sutherland headbutting case postponed

Kiefer Sutherland has been told that he will not be required to attend a court date this week following allegations that he headbutted a fashion designer in New York.

The 24 star had been scheduled to attend a Manhattan court this morning to answer the charge that he assaulted Jack McCollough at a nightclub in May.

However, a representative for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has announced that the court date has been postponed and that a new date has not been set. The reason for the delay has not been revealed.

Sutherland and McCollough recently released a joint statement claiming that they had reached an agreement following the incident, but the actor had still been required to appear in court.

An attorney for the star has yet to comment.
