The actor is understood to have sustained cuts and bruises after a man hurled his bicycle into the path of Caviezel's Harley-Davidson vehicle on a road in Washington.
Trooper Rich Magnussen has confirmed that the 40-year-old was taken to the Cascade Medical Centre in Leavenworth yesterday.
He added that Caviezel was wearing a helmet and that the accident "could have been a lot worse". It is suspected that mental issues might be the reason why the unnamed individual threw the bicycle on the road.
