The actress, 44, has become involved with the kitchen products that enjoyed a surge in popularity in the 1960s after Mila Pond hosted a Tupperware party in Weybridge.
Shields is working in tandem with the brand's Chain of Confidence campaign, which will donate $1 million (£614,515) to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in support of the SMART Girls programme, Entertainment Tonight reports.
"We're sort of bringing back the Tupperware party. There's this sort of kitsch aspect to it. It's fun. I think people started making fun of it, but I guarantee you people are rushing to the table to see the product."
She added: "It's a campaign that celebrates women, that empowers women, that celebrates the relationships women have and the independence that they derive from those relationships."
Earlier this month, the Blue Lagoon star spoke about her "odd couple" friendship with Michael Jackson at his memorial service.
