Robbie Williams is joining Travis, Coldplay and The Darkness in the Band Aid III remake of Do They Know It's Christmas originally recorded in 1984.
Robbie will make his contribution via satellite, as he will be in Mexico at the time of recording. Other stars involved in the recording will be Noel Gallagher, Damon Albarn, Keane and Beverley Knight.
The song was also re-recorded in 1989 by artists including Kylie Minogue, Cliff Richard and Bros.
Midge Ure recognises that the atmosphere will be different this time around, given the nature of the artists involved: "I'm desperate to hear Keane and Coldplay just open that tune up with their pianos and then The Darkness play the harmony guitar bits at the end - it should be great fun," he said.
