Halliwell 'trying to crack US'

Geri Halliwell has allegedly travelled to the US in order to forge a new career as a screenwriter.

The former Spice Girl has gone to America to sell an film screenplay that she has written, reports The Mirror.

While in Los Angeles, Halliwell also met with ex-Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller, who now produces American Idol. They celebrated his 13 Emmy nominations for the show along with comedians Sacha Baron Cohen, Matt Lucas and David Walliams.

A source said: "You could hear their laughter bellowing out all over the restaurant."
