Joe Jackson: 'I never beat Michael'

Michael Jackson's father has blasted rumours that he beat the singer when he was younger.

Despite the late entertainer's claims that Joe Jackson would beat him to the point that he would "regurgitate" with fear, his dad says that his treatment of his son was fair.

In an interview with US TV presenter Chris Connelly, Joe insisted that he wasn't any stricter than other parents. He said: "Michael was never beat. And everyone spanked their kids when they did wrong. But not beat."

He also went on to blame his wife Katherine for the hitting, saying: "Katherine spanked Michael more than I did, 'cause I was working two jobs and she was at home with him the most."

Joe, who was also Michael's manager in his early career, insisted he has no regrets about their upbringing, saying: "We brought him up the right way."
