Lachey, Simpson 'in close contact'

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson are rumoured to be enjoying regular long phone conversations with each other.

The pair, who divorced in 2005 after three years of marriage, are believed to still have feelings for each other since recently becoming single again.

After confirming that they have been in close touch recently, a friend of Lachey told the Chicago Sun-Times: "Nick has never stopped loving Jessica."

Simpson recently split from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, soon after Lachey and TV star Vanessa Minnillo ended their three-year relationship.
