Shakira "very intrigued" by Pattinson

Shakira has revealed that she is a "big fan" of the Twilight franchise and admitted that she is "very intrigued" by the movie's star Robert Pattinson.

The singer, who releases her comeback album in October, told MTV News's Tim Kash that new single 'She Wolf" was already written and recorded before she decided to watch the vampire romance.

"Know why I watched Twilight?... The president of my label said, 'Have you checked out Twilight? It's about wolves and about, um, vampires and things, and I'm like that's up my alley, where is it?'"

When asked whether she fancied star Pattinson (Edward Cullen), she replied: "No, no, no. I'm too old. I can't say those things! I mean, how old is he? 23? 24? You are getting me in trouble! I heard he's a great singer and a great musician as well... I'm very intrigued."

However, the 32-year-old went on to joke that she still preferred Harry Potter over Twilight because it had been around for longer.
