Hilton: 'Jackson named daughter after me'

Paris Hilton has claimed that late singer Michael Jackson named his only daughter after her.

Speaking to Extra, the heiress revealed that her mother had gone to high school with Jackson and that the pair had been "best friends since they were 13".

"I grew up knowing Michael very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me," she explained.

"So he asked my mum if it was okay, and of course she said yes, and I think she's such a beautiful little girl and I'm proud we have the same name."

Jackson, who died on June 25, had three children: Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and 7-year-old Blanket.
