Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have spoken out against reports that they're about to break up.

The rumours of a split came after a tabloid claimed that Nick had cheated on his wife with a stripper at a stag party.

"Our relationship is better than it's ever been," insisted Jessica. "We are absolutely not breaking up."

She admitted that the pair had arguments, adding: "What married couple doesn't? You don't want to marry somebody who's just like you. So there are always going to be conflicts. That's what compromise is all about. It means that we're communicating."

The duo are currently taping a new series of their MTV reality show Newlyweds.
