Anthony 'throws birthday bash for Lopez'

Jennifer Lopez was thrown a lavish 40th birthday party by husband Marc Anthony, it has been reported.

The star of upcoming romcom Plan B celebrated the occasion at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan, People reports.

The pair reportedly arrived in a Bentley to the event, which was attended by family and celebrities including Liza Minnelli, music producer LA Reid and Oprah Winfrey's best friend Gayle King.

Prior to entering the venue, the 'Jenny From The Block' singer met fans who were positioned behind barricades after the street was closed down for the affair.

"Jen was in an amazing mood and was just so excited about seeing all the fans," a source said. "Jennifer was the belle of the ball. She was glowing and just radiating happiness. She really had a great time."

The insider added: "It was a glamorous setting, with white flowers around. Very classy. Everyone had a really good time, and it was a nice mix of her family, business associates and her friends."

Lopez recently admitted that she would love to have more children, while she has also refuted rumours that she will replace judge Paula Abdul on American Idol.
