The incident occurred during filming of the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror film Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark in Australia, the Daily Mail reports.
A source said: "Katie was very shaken by the ordeal. She took the rest of the day off while special effects staff looked over the faults.
"Katie has filmed scenes since but it has made her think about her safety on set. She will be shooting the same scene at a later date. She's obviously very nervous about it."
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, which is being directed by Troy Nixey, is a remake of the 1973 made-for-TV movie of the same name.
