Lembit Opik goes public with new romance

Lembit Opik has announced that he is in love with another younger woman.

The 44-year-old politician started dating underwear model Katie Green, 21, after they met at a party three months ago.

Opik's new romance follows his failed partnership with 26-year-old Cheeky Girl Gabriela Irimia, which ended acrimoniously last summer.

Revealing his joy in an interview with Closer magazine, Opik commented: "Katie is beautiful, smart and attractive. She's charming, unpretentious, interesting and engaging. We've got to know each other really well."

Green added: "Lembit's very charming and witty. I can see why Gabriela found him attractive. We've gone for plenty of dinners and I'm meant to be going up to his home in Wales soon for the weekend.

"I have always liked an older man and it's refreshing that he sees me as intelligent."

Opik also dated TV weathergirl Sian Lloyd, 51, before finding love with Irimia in late 2006.
