Busted switch on Regent St lights
Busted switched on Regent St's famous Christmas lights on Sunday evening.

The pop trio flicked the switch shortly after 5.30pm, illuminating some 350,000 lights in what the organisers claim is the most innovative and sophisticated display ever seen in London.

To coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the Regent St lights, musical artists from every decade since the 1950s played in a special gig through the afternoon.

Previous names to have switched on the lights include the Prince of Wales (1978), Joan Collins (1985), Dame Edna Everage (1988), Kylie Minogue (1989), Sir Anthony Hopkins (1992), Sly Stallone (1993), Will Young (2002) and Daniel Bedingfield (2003).
