Former chef Jamie was granted control of the singer's affairs last year after she was hospitalised over alleged mental health issues, and has been credited for aiding her recovery.
Speaking to The Mirror, a source said: "Britney just wanted to give him something useful as a sign of her appreciation.
"After all their ups and downs she knows he's always got her best interests at heart."
It has been reported that the Los Angeles-based eatery will serve soul food, such as fried chicken, barbecued ribs and black eyed peas.
Spears previously owned a New York restaurant called Nyla, but the establishment was allegedly forced to close in 2003 as a result of debt and management issues.
