The Foo Fighters frontman is set to attend the commemorative event in his native city of Warren, Ohio, where the town's Market Alley will be renamed after the former Nirvana drummer, reports NME.
Grohl and his parents lived in Ohio during the singer's early years before moving to Alexandria, Virginia.
Local Warren artists have also been invited to paint murals along the alley walls to pay tribute to Grohl's music.
