Gwyneth Paltrow has said that she feels amazing after spending three weeks on a strict diet regime.

The Emma actress, who has children Apple and Moses with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, followed the Clean Detox programme after gaining some weight.

Paltrow wrote on her website: "This programme allowed me to work and exercise regularly, something I cannot do if I am on a liquid only detox. I followed it to the letter and I feel pure and happy and much lighter."

The diet apparently encourages followers to survive on coconut water, herbal tea, fresh fruit smoothies, raw almonds, miso soup, raw pumpkin seeds and extra virgin olive oil.

The 36-year-old reportedly wanted to shed the pounds after gaining weight in a "majorly fun and delicious relax-and-enjoy life phase".
