Pitt: 'Media gossip is self-generating'

The actor told The Times that he does not understand the mentality of journalists and editors who construct false stories about him and his family.
Pitt said: "We just don't really participate. It kind of goes on without us. It's self-generating. When I was younger I would take it personally; it was such an injustice to me.
"As a man or as a woman I don't know how they could sit there and do it. I mean, [the stories] are consciously fabricated and I don't know how you could do that."
Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston's publicist Stephen Huvane recently hit out at celebrity weeklies for their "lies and complete fabrications" that "distort and damage the dignity of the private lives of actors".
