Kirstie Allsopp has vowed that she will not get involved in a public feud with former GMTV star Fiona Phillips.
The Location, Location, Location host was recently criticised by Phillips following her spat with the Daily Mail. She had earlier condemned the newspaper for incorrectly claiming that she had a moustache.
Commenting on the row in her newspaper column, Phillips insisted: "I'm afraid that's the price you have to pay, Kirstie. You can't use the press to promote yourself one minute and turn on them when the publicity's not so positive. Having been pictured looking decidedly rough in a number of publications of late, I know what I'm talking about."
Allsopp claimed that she would not read Phillips's response after being alerted to the presenter's remarks by fans on her Twitter page.
Writing at the weekend, she revealed: "My 'puter is refusing to download link to whichever site Fiona Phillips writes for, maybe it's protecting me from a ruined night?"
In a later update, she added: "Taking all your wise advice and not bothering to read Fi Phillips's piece - she was brave to do Apprentice for Comic Relief, so hats off to her for that."
The property expert's followers eventually filled her in on Phillips's exact words, prompting her to claim that the broadcaster had "missed the point" of the controversy but insist that there would be "no feud".
Allsopp received an apology from the Daily Mail last week.
