Miller: 'Getty backlash was deserved'

Sienna Miller has admitted that she deserved the backlash she received for her fling with Balthazar Getty.

The Factory Girl star was branded a homewrecker last summer after she started dating the married father-of-four in the aftermath of her split from Rhys Ifans.

As coverage of their relationship continued to feature in tabloids, vandals targeted the actress's North London home, smearing the word "slut" on one of its outside walls.

Reflecting on the row in an interview with The Guardian, Miller commented: "I don't really want to talk about it. I just don't need that, I really don't. It was like, I - well, I experienced the judgment of a lot of people - and deservedly so. So that's it."

The 27-year-old added that she believes she would be treated differently by the media if she was a male film star.

"I just think it's, uh, interesting. The truth is, if you're a man it is a lot easier," she claimed. "I would love to be, you know, Johnny Depp - be a great actor and do great choices and be very private - I would love that.

"But it's just not - well, you become a target for a certain kind of attention, and it's hard to shake. And I've done a lot of things that have probably inadvertently attracted attention. All sorts of things - just generally the way I live my life, going out, getting p***ed, being seen. So I suppose my behaviour, if you look at it from the outside, would seem as if I've somehow contributed towards it, or wanted it."

Miller was said to have called time on her romance with Getty in May.
