After their request was initially denied last week, a Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday that the family could examine the deal between Michael and the concert promoters, The Sun reports.
A source said: "Joe has been obsessed with AEG's role from the start and wanted to see the contract.
"Joe didn't trust them and told Michael. He is adamant he only agreed or wanted to do ten shows and was pressured into doing more."
Michael's parents are said to have hired private detectives to investigate their son's death, while their legal team has reportedly refused to sign an agreement to prevent material from the AEG contract being used in any proceedings.
Prior to his death, Jackson was said to have told fans that he was "angry" about the decision by AEG to organise a 50-date residency.
