People magazine says that representatives for both actors have confirmed the news but did not reveal any more details of the marriage proposal or dates for the upcoming wedding.
Paquin and Moyer officially announced that they were a couple in February. In July, she talked to AOL about their nude scenes on set together, saying: "If you're already with that person then you're not having to sort of get over the 'Wow, I'm naked with someone that I don't even know the middle name of!'"
The second season of the vampire drama series is currently on air in the US.
