O'Neal: 'Maybe I caused Fawcett's cancer'

Ryan O'Neal has revealed that he thinks he might have caused his partner Farrah Fawcett to contract cancer.

The Love Story actor, who was with Fawcett on and off for 20 years, has apparently convinced himself that his poor treatment of her contributed to her death from anal cancer on June 25.

O'Neal told Vanity Fair magazine: "I'd love to do it over. I would have been much kinder, most understanding, more mature. I'd lose some of the savagery. I don't know how she got cancer - maybe some of it was me."

The 68-year-old star left Fawcett in 1998 to move in with a younger woman and they reunited in 2001 after her diagnosis.
