Chris Brown has been dropped from his Wrigley's Doublemint gum deal, it has been reported.

The company announced that it has "ended" its contract with the singer after hearing that he had pleaded guilty on charges of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and popstar Rihanna.

Brown had been the spokesperson for the chewing gum firm, while his song 'Forever' was part of Wrigley's advertising campaign, Reuters reports.

The 20-year-old, who agreed to serve five years of probation and perform 180 days of community service in his home state of Virginia, has had his sentencing delayed until August 27.
