'Grease' star's ex: 'Leave me alone'

Olivia Newton-John’s ex-lover has urged investigators to stop searching for him, leading to a major breakthrough in the case.

Patrick McDermott is alleged to be travelling around to avoid paying his debts, reports the News Of The World.

A fax sent on McDermott’s behalf has now been received, insisting that he is alive, innocent and demanding: "Stop this search immediately!"

"Pat asked that I portray to you his innocence in the crimes you have accused him of. Pat has committed no crime... Pat simply wishes to be left alone.

"Let him live his life in peace and harmony. He is safe and has started anew again in a new place both mentally and physically."

The detectives’ document shows that McDermott is working as a deckhand in Mexico and always stays in a little motel in room 10.

Investigator Philip Klein has stated that the McDermott representative, known only as 'Cacma D', is "100% credible".

He added: "This case is now 94% solved. The remaining 6% is to actually see McDermott sitting in front of my face."
