Ceberano: 'Tom Cruise is my idol'

Kate Ceberano has announced that Hollywood actor and fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise is her hero.

The Australian singer praised Cruise after singing at his 47th birthday party in Melbourne last month.

According to the Melbourne Herald Sun, she said: "Quite simply, I worship the ground he walks on. He is a great friend and one whose friendship I value over anyone else I know. He is my idol."

She added: "He exemplifies what I consider to be the greatest attributes of a Scientologist - he is honest, hardworking, can be trusted and exchanges back into his community, [it's] not just take take, which is what a lot of people in his business seem to be primarily motivated by."

Cruise, who is currently in Australia during the filming of Katie Holmes's horror movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, reportedly turned up on the film set recently with two dozen red roses for his wife.
