Director 'feels guilty about Pattinson, Stewart'

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has admitted that she feels "kind of guilty" about helping thrust stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart into the limelight.

The filmmaker made the remark to the Los Angeles Times after being quizzed about whether she had kept in contact with the duo since their rise to fame.

"I mean, part of me feels kind of guilty because they are both such indie spirits... so independent," she explained.

"I feel bad for all the craziness, I don't think [they enjoy this limelight]. They are really artists, they like making meaningful art, interesting art. So I hope they can find a way to do that, let the frenzy die down."

Pattinson and Stewart allegedly fuelled rumours that they are dating last week after they were spotted attending a concert together in Los Angeles.
